Role Overview:

The Director of Facilities Management is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of engineering, biomedical services, security, and emergency management. This position ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements related to the environment of care, life safety, and building maintenance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for engineering, biomedical, and security services.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies such as CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and NFPA.
  • Serve as the appointed Safety Officer, maintaining and enforcing safety regulations within the hospital and associated departments.
  • Oversee departmental financial management, including operational budgets and construction projects.
  • Manage the renovation and construction of hospital facilities and affiliated clinics and offices, acting as the primary liaison for major construction initiatives.
  • Supervise administrative management and personnel, ensuring all staff are aligned with department operations.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of plant assets and infrastructure, prioritizing repairs and maintenance for optimal long-term performance.
  • Lead and support quality improvement activities, actively participating in broader hospital quality initiatives.
  • Oversee biomedical contract services, acting as the primary liaison.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the hospital's mission and goals.
Qualifications:

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct engineering experience required.
  • 3 years of management, supervisory, or administrative experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience with Joint Commission standards is essential.
Education:
  • Electrical/Mechanical degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Additional trade school or related coursework is preferred.
  • Recent experience as a Director of Facilities Management in a hospital setting is a must.
