We are looking for an Area Director of Sales to oversee and drive sales performance across multiple properties, including Springhill Suites by Marriott Roanoke and Hampton Inn & Suites Roanoke - Downtown. This leadership role involves developing strategic plans, managing a team of sales managers and coordinators, and ensuring revenue targets are met or exceeded. Key responsibilities include business development, client relationship management, and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue goals.
  2. Lead, coach, and mentor sales teams.
  3. Analyze market trends and identify growth opportunities.
  4. Build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
  5. Align sales initiatives with business goals through collaboration with marketing and operations.
  6. Present forecasts, reports, and strategic plans to leadership.
  7. Ensure adherence to sales processes, tools, and policies.
  8. Recruit, train, and retain top sales talent, conducting regular performance reviews.
  9. Attend industry events for networking and business development.
  10. Develop multi-year commercial strategy plans with property leaders.
  11. Support hotel marketing and digital activities, ensuring online content effectiveness.
  12. Manage departmental budgets and forecasts.
  13. Lead regular commercial strategy meetings and translate outcomes into actionable strategies.
  14. Report on performance and commercial activities.
  15. Build relationships with community and travel partners.
  16. Engage with customers across all sales segments.
  17. Support site visits, client meetings, and sales travel.
  18. Promote a culture aligned with company values, DEI, and ESG goals.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of hotel sales or equivalent experience; familiarity with Hilton & Marriott systems and Delphi is a plus.
  • Experience leading multi-property sales teams is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to foster a productive team and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime and irregular hours.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Navigating various organizational premises.
