Sustainability, Compliance, and EM Program Lead

Description:

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a Sustainability, Compliance, and Environmental Management Program Lead to direct and execute our portfolio of environmental compliance work primarily for the DoD but also a range of SLED, and commercial clients. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experiencefostering strong clientrelationships, implementing capture management strategies, cementing strategic partnerships, providing vision for strategic planning, and growing the technical service line organically.

This position is situated within our Environmental Management (EM) Market Sector and will require working collaboratively with other technical areas within EM as well as our Applied Professional and Technology Solutions Business Area (APTS), which provides geospatial and data solutions for a variety of federal and commercial customers.

Primary work location is flexible with office, hybrid, or telework options.

Responsibilities :

Program Manager – Operations and Subject Matter Expert

  • Provide solutions-based leadership and subject matter expertise to high level experts in the DoD and beyond.
  • Manage a diverse technical team to ensure technical excellence in executing natural and cultural resources projects, air quality compliance, and our long-term water quality monitoring program.
  • Support development of vulnerability assessments, NEPA and climate adaptation alternatives development, predictive modeling, resilience planning, and ecologically focused restoration projects being managed under partner programs.
  • Working with EM leadership, assess capability gaps and build a talented and versatile team that aligns to current and projected client expectations and project needs.
  • Ensure all projects deliverables are produced on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards by tracking, monitoring, and managing program / project progress, financials, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ownership of financial performance for all sustainability and environmental management projects, including revenue, gross margin, and profitability.
  • Proactively identify potential technical issues and develop of mitigation strategies.
  • Provide mentorship in the climate space to technical staff.
  • Lead responses to successful white papers and proposals.

Marketing, Public Representation, and Client Development

  • Identify, pursue, and capture opportunities resulting in organic growthyear over year.
  • Act as a thought leader in strategic plan development and execution.
  • Foster strong client relationships and nurture strategic partnerships.
  • Maintain high professional visibility by participating in professional organizations, conferences, and seminars.

Required Experience / Capabilities :

  • Command of Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps guidance, processes, frameworks, and internal workings is a must.
  • Recognized expertise working in this space for the DoD.
  • Proven client management and project management experience - ability to manage teams and execute projects within scope / schedule / budget and see through to completion.
  • Bandwidth to engage with multiple stakeholders to assess climate constraints in the context of mission and develop frameworks for assessing mitigation.
  • Demonstrated success working in a BD role including Capture experience with major federal acquisition vehicles.
  • Exceptional relationship building and management skills to establish rapport, trust and confidence with both the client and in-house operational teams.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic organization and adapt to changing environments.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
  • Business travel is required.

Education / Professional Credentials :

  • BA / BA degree in biology, archaeology, air quality, ecology, environmental engineering, sustainability, climate change science, planning, environmental science, or a related degree.
  • Advanced degree and professional certifications (e.g., Professional Wetlands Scientist) preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience developing and executing solutions in the environmental compliance market for the DoD.
