As a Sr Supplier Quality Engineer here at Honeywell, you will work with a team of supplier quality engineers to ensure that our suppliers meet Honeywell's quality standards and strategy in the manufacture of components. You will be accountable for driving supplier performance improvement, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the highest level of quality in our supply chain.
This is a remote role and candidates can be located in Indiana, Michigan or Ohio.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by managing your day-to-day activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will also be accountable for conducting supplier audits, performing root cause analysis, and driving corrective actions to address quality issues.
The position requires breadth of technical experience across multiple programs and products, both electrical and mechanical, working directly with suppliers daily, influencing / working closely with the sourcing commodity leadership teams, Quality and NPD. The successful candidate should be able to effectively communicate with senior management, have a big picture strategic mindset, handle multiple priorities, influence, and solve complex problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop positive relationships and work closely with quality leaders to manage, implement and track supplier improvements
Perform process and product audits for proactive risk management
Support authorities (FAA, EASA, CAAC) and customer audits
Create and participate in PFMEA activities, Work Instruction Improvements, and Control Plan effectiveness with suppliers
Ensure supplier compliance while driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans to deliver performance
Evaluate/develop prospective supplier Quality System
Evaluate/develop procedures for compliance to contractual and regulatory requirements
Monitor supplier Quality metrics associated with supplier capability, trends and related production improvement efforts
Train associates, suppliers, and contract personnel in Six Sigma techniques
Drive Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to prevent defects
Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
Provide technical insight to analyze risks and opportunities
Travel to supplier sites.
COMPENSATION
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $93k-$117k. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is 93k-117k. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
A minimum of 6 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or a related role
Strong knowledge of quality engineering practices and methodologies
Willingness to travel to supplier sites more than 50%
WE VALUE
Experience using Six Sigma techniques and Green Belt or higher certification
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Experience with project management and Kaizen facilitation.
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of leadership.
Proven problem-solving skills, including ability to interpret business performance and financial data, define actions, and implement solutions.
Recognized authority in area of expertise and or products with wide versatility of experience and capability – casting, welding, or machining background is a plus
High level of interpersonal skills is required to handle difficult situations as well as diffuse interpersonal conflict effectively
