Description:
- Reviews financial records, statutes, and the utilization of VUB grant resources
- Retrieval of VA Certification of Eligibility each academic semester
- Coordinating academic advisors on fourteen college campuses in HSU target area for degree plans
- Assesses professional staff job performance; (4) Responsible for payroll and personnel policies
- Prepares the U.S. Department of Education Annual Performance Report
- Evaluates VUB programming needs, reviews applications for employment, and recommends approval/disapproval of hiring personnel
- Participates in establishing priorities and allocating resources.
- Works with the VUB Project Coordinator on accounting practices to comply with federal requirements, and evaluates program requirements and education/cultural grant resources
- Coordinates and monitors progress in meeting Veterans Upward Bound goals and objectives and ensuring compliance with institution policies, EDGAR, and federal grant rules and regulations
- Prepares financial reports, monitors disbursements and invoices involving vendor services, and allocates resources for all VUB programming
- Prepares statistical reports by analyzing VUB program information and works with VUB Project Coordinator on program financial accounting
- Reviews programming for grant compliance and allocations of funds for VUB programming and veteran stipends/work-study
- Provides technical assistance on tuition waivers and maintains fourteen target college transcripts to ensure degree completion
- Oversees the purchase of consumable supplies, transportation, and academic services
- Coordinate VA work-study program; file and maintain paperwork
- Plans, directs and organizes Veterans Upward Bound program recruitment campaigns covering south Arkansas
- Reviews all program invoices for accuracy and adherence to established Banner procedures, verifies available funds, and submits invoices for payment
