The Company offers a wide range of critical components and engineered solutions to solve our customers' most complex challenges.Position Title: Extrusion Operator Location: Roanoke, VADescription: Our extrusion operator role supports Mativ's extrusion line machine operation. This individual will safely and efficiently set up, start up, trouble shoot, and continuously operate extrusion line equipment. responsibilities:Set up: Read and understand schedule, BOM, and SOC Able to perform all functions of the set up: Select proper tooling Install tooling Insure correct resin Start up: Position all controls to SOC Activate extruder and miscellaneous drives Test initial product Make necessary adjustments Verify product is in spec Run Production: Package product in accordance with packaging instructions Troubleshoot the process Perform QC test per SOC Store finished product per instructions Validate process is in control Enter data correctly into data collection Clean and return all used tooling to stock Adhere to food safety regulations as applicable qualifications:RequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalentProficient use of calipers, micrometers, and rulersReads & understands Metric & English (US Customary) measuring systemAble to read ruler measurement to nearest ¼Able to convert measurements from one system to anotherBasic computer skillsBasic math skillsReads and comprehends EnglishPreferredForklift CertificationPosition Demands Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment:Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot.Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards.Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including:Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)Safety GlassesBump CapsProtective Gloves, when performing certain tasksHearing Protection, when requiredOther personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks.While performing the duties of this job the employee must meet the physical demands:Be able to lift up to 75 pounds.Perform repetitive tasks.Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.What we offer As a Mativ employee, you'll have access to a variety of benefit programs designed to help you no matter your stage of life.
