Description

Provide ongoing preventative and emergency maintenance services. Ensures building and equipment are well maintained for staff and members. Provide supervision, scheduling and payroll responsibilities for facility staff as directed by Association Property Director. Assist with alternating on call duties for emergency repairs. Provide ongoing service to assigned branch(es).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSExemplifies the YMCA mission and character development.Inspects and evaluates physical condition of facility and equipment.Makes repairs to facility as needed: to include: basic electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing and mechanical as directed by management.Supervise and support housekeeping staff.Periodically inventories supplies and equipment.Work with outside contractors to assure equipment is safe and mechanicallyAttends meetings as designated.Participates in departmental budgetary planningAssures preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to within scheduledWORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks and deadlines.Knowledge of approved sanitation methods.Awareness and knowledge of safety standards.Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and repetitive arm/hand movements.Lifting of up to 50 lbs.Occasional pushing and pulling of heavy furniture and equipment.Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree (A.A.) from a 2-year college or vocational school; or oneto two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of

education and experience.

Technical knowledge in facilities maintenance or building contracting.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret building blue prints, professional

journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write

reports, business correspondences, and procedure manuals. Ability to

effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of

managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
