Senior Insulation Estimator

Our team is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Insulation Estimator to join our Richmond, VA office and contribute to our growing success.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Insulation Estimator who will play a crucial role in estimating and managing industrial and commercial insulation projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing bids, negotiating contracts, and consulting on projects in collaboration with our senior field superintendent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and submission of project bids, maintaining full ownership from inception to completion.
  • Oversee all aspects of the bid process, including safety, cost, profitability, schedule, and contract terms.
  • Coordinate and attend pre-construction meetings with Project Managers and company executives to ensure alignment on project expectations.
  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to provide expert advice and support.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients and general contractors, ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare monthly bid logs and contribute to sales reports and business analysis as needed; actively participate in internal sales meetings.
  • Manage communication with vendor representatives to support job needs and material specifications, including processing technical specification submittals and contracts.
  • Work closely with Sales and Billing Departments to process change orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Engage with General Contractors and consultants to complete bids and address any project-related queries.
  • Uphold and promote Multiservice's Safety and Operating Culture, ensuring site teams adhere to best practices and safety standards.
  • Provide clear and effective communication to both Multiservice and Corporate Management on project progress and any potential issues.
  • Proactively identify potential project issues and implement resolutions before they escalate.
  • Ensure all bid documents are complete, up-to-date, and properly stored.
  • Suggest improvements to internal processes and propose solutions for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry, preferably in mechanical insulation.
  • Proven ability to create strong working relationships with senior management and effectively operate within a matrix organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and confidence
  • Experience in reading, interpreting, and accurately taking off construction drawings.
  • Preferred direct field experience in insulation, mechanical plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficient with computer-based estimating software, with a preference for familiarity with "MIKE" Estimating Software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
