Job DescriptionFralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for the Mishra Lab. Postdoctoral fellows specializing in cardiovascular physiology are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a research background in cell biology, biochemistry, mitochondria, metabolism, cell signaling, cardiovascular physiology, or a related field. The lab employs a wide range of scientific methods, including protein biochemistry, metabolism, bioenergetics, FRET, proteomics, epigenomics, and mouse genetics, providing excellent multidisciplinary training. The project is funded by the American Heart Association.ResponsibilitiesResearch conceptualization and implementation: Coordinate with and assist the PI in the design and undertaking of experiments and grant proposal methodologies, as well as methods for analyzing the results of experiments.Research publications: Prepare text, tables, and graphical information for dissemination in peer-reviewed publications, presentations at professional conferences, or book chapters.Data analysis: Analyze research findings and transform results into formats suitable for publications or conference presentations, or for further analysis.Project management: Train and supervise research personnel to organize and conduct study sessions.Required QualificationsPhD in cardiovascular physiology or a similar medical discipline, awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment, with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.Prior experience in preparation of proposals, reports, and publications, presentation of research results, and development of patents.Preferred QualificationsA record of research excellence demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and invited talks.Demonstrated work in interdisciplinary collaborative teams.Additional InformationThe successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.Appointment Type : RestrictedSalary Information : Commensurate with experienceEqual Opportunity StatementVirginia Tech does not discriminate against employees, students, or applicants on the basis of age, color, disability, sex (including pregnancy), gender, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, national origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, or military status, or otherwise discriminate against employees or applicants who inquire about, discuss, or disclose their compensation or the compensation of other employees or applicants, or on any other basis protected by law.#J-18808-Ljbffr
